Acknowledgements

We would like to acknowledge and thank our safari guide and agent, David Mark Erickson of David Mark Erickson Safaris. Without his contacts, knowledge, and attention to detail this trip would not have been such an extraordinary experience. Although we debated the expense of a private guide, in retrospect it was the best possible decision for us. David's 7 years in Tanzania and knowledge of Swahili, combined with his background in international development, travel, conservation, and photography enriched the trip far beyond what we could have accomplished on our own. If you are curious about travelling to Africa, we wholeheartedly recommend sending David an email: david@davidmarkerickson.com

Thank you also to the driving force behind the Rift Valley Children's Village and Tanzanian Children's Fund, India Howell. India (Mama India to her charges and much of northern Tanzania), took time out of her busy day to give us a tour and tell us the story of her organization and the children it serves. RVCV is an extraordinary place, and India is an extraordinary person. We hope you will take a moment and visit their website (www.tanzanianchildrensfund.org) and consider supporting them in their important mission.

We would also like to give a shout-out our primary driver, Julius, who deserves the title "Best Driver In The World". The roads in Tanzania are an experience in themselves, and navigating them safely requires a lot of knowledge, focus, and experience. Thank you, Julius, for seeing us safely down the road!

Finally, we would like to thank all of the rest of the people on the ground in Tanzania who contributed to this adventure, from the ground operator who made the detailed arrangements, to the camp managers who made sure we were taken care of, to the camp staff who were our cooks, wait staff, guides, guards, drivers, maids, and teachers. We may or may not ever be able to return to Africa, but thanks to you we will always remember the kindness and warmth of the Tanzanian people.

Asante Sana!

- Bob and Catherine
